I was reminded of this while replying to some comments in a post I made the other day.
When I was a kid I wasn’t terrible, but I was a bit ornery and had a special distaste for people who would abuse their position of authority. As a kid the authority was often a teacher.
Well sometimes teachers might say something that didn’t sit right with me and I would try to debate them, but if this happened when a teacher wasn’t in the mood or felt like I had stepped over a line (usually the result of the impromptu debate interrupting a class) I might find myself hearing the familiar words “go the principal’s office now!”
