A few days ago I got an alert from my bank about a large charge made by Kaiser (health insurance). Kaiser defended it by explaining that they had received a notice from our state insurance exchange telling them that I should be enrolled in a premium plan, backdated to January 1, and owed an additional $2,900 in back premiums. Kaiser has also changed my plan to add my ex-husband and remove our daughter. I said that was wrong and I had been paying for a high deductible plan (still $500/mo FML) and had received no benefits this year. They said it couldn’t be fixed unless the Exchange sent them an update.
