backstory: I work at a very small ISP that offers DSL internet, at the time of the story I had been working in the support call center for about 1.5 years (I think). nothing is embellished in fact i left out many vulgarities since they were gross and also may not remember them exactly. Anyways rewind to 5 months prior and I had my first run in with ** customer** so I knew when we were dealing with a total idiot once i realized who he was later.

customer> my internet is SO slow. You need to fix it!

OP> okay, what are the speeds your getting?

customer> TOO SLOW CANT STREAM NETFLIX

I politely ask him to run a speedtest, we even have a speedtest server in house. And he indeed was getting slow speeds. About 6/10 mbps. And I can see total upload saturation. (Usually cloud backup). I tell him this and he doesn’t buy it. Nothing could ever be his fault.
