TLDR at the bottom.
So, first of all, some information to clear some stuff up.
In my country, kids leave elementary school around age 12. After elementary, they go to middle school, which, depending on your performance on a test at the end of elementary school, lasts 4 to 6 years. I scored well on the test, so I got to study 6 years, which is kind of the equivalent of grammar school here.
In my first year of middle school, I was kind of an awkward kid. Everything was new, and, growing up in a small city, I didn’t have many friends or people I knew at my new school. Some other kid, who also happened to live in the city I lived in - I didn’t know him - had some serious insecurities and bullied me to cover those up. This lasted for a while, until I told a teacher. The teacher handled it like a boss and the bullying immediately stopped. The kid even started to be nice to me. I thought this was the end of it, but I’ve never been more wrong.
