So a while back (early 2000’s) I was asked by a company (referred by a friend) to write a piece of software that would let them filter data based off interests and send out an email to all the contacts left (plenty of software does this these days). As a software developer in the early days of the internet it wasn’t uncommon for people to rip you off so I always tried to put in some method of disabling the software if I needed to. Thankfully up until this point I never needed to do it.
