This story happened last week and is somewhat more wholesome than malicious. For that reason, if there’s a better subreddit for it, I’d love to know.

Tldr at the bottom

Last month the family Laptop of 6 years wouldn’t turn on. It wasn’t unexpected, since it had a ton of problems already, and we were already raising money for an actual computer. After buying it we were planning on testing it on a really old screen we had, but it wouldn’t work. We decided to buy a new screen and a cable to connect them. Apparently, though, computer screens come with the corresponding cables, so I had to go back to the store to return the extra cable we bought. Here starts our story.
