I have some history with my HOA. When we first moved in we did some painting on our exterior that my wife got approved, then they sent us a letter telling us to repaint it or they will sic lawyers. Then we got a lawyer ourselves and they acted like we had done something wrong by bringing him with us to the HOA meeting. They agreed to do the new painting at their expense, but I still hate them for the whole thing.
